Challenge:

Develop strategic and operational alternatives for a teen retailer to improve business performance and enhance shareholder value.

Solution:

We identified strategic options for the business, including the repositioning of its main retail stores, merchandise optimization, and real estate rationalization. In addition, we assessed the viability of two of its divisions.

We worked closely with board members and senior executives to assess the company’s performance vis-ŕ-vis its competition as well as model possible future performance given changing consumer preferences. We addressed several improvement areas within merchandising, store operations, and organizational development.

To successfully reposition the retail stores we developed a new brand vision that will enable the organization to develop a deep emotional connection with their target consumer through new merchandise story telling techniques, a revitalized in-store customer experience and strategies to communicate with consumers through multiple touch points.

Measurable Results:

Increase in sales and profitability, returning improved overall shareholder value.
