Derick has over two decades of senior retail management experience as well as inde- pendent consulting expertise in strategic development, merchandising, and marketing. Derick has also performed significant operational and organizational review for retailers and consumer products companies. Derick has held senior level retail management positions with Reebok International, Polo Ralph Lauren Retail, and Tommy Hilfiger Retail as well as consulting expertise at Management Horizons Price Waterhouse and Scient.
Prior to founding Fleming + TeeKing, Derick was a management consultant leading many strategic development, product, and market positioning engagements, focusing on retailers as well as globally recognized brands. Derick's client engagements included Nike, Shanghai Tang, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger, and Spiegel as well as work with private equities performing due diligence review.
During his management tenure, Derick served as Senior Director of New Retail Concepts at Reebok International developing innovative retail concepts focused on distinct consumer targets. Derick was also responsible for assisting Reebok's global partners and subsidiaries to ensure the education and adoption of retail best practices. His assignments included work in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, and France.
Prior to Reebok, Derick worked with Scient, an e-business strategy consulting firm, where he served as Strategy Director for the Retail and Consumer Products practice. Derick was a Principal Consultant with Management Horizons Price Waterhouse in the retail strategy group. His clients have included retailers as well as consumer products divisions of Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, and MGM.
Derick has an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Vermont.
